Great Wolf Lodge

I am behind on posting... oh well.

A little over a week ago (11/8) we went to the Great Wolf Lodge. We were lucky that we got to keep our reservations. That week before Hayle and Paige had the flu and got better just in time to go. Otherwise we would have had to push it off for another month. They were both still pretty tired when we went but still had a great time. This time we got a wolf pass thing that included the Magic Quest game, a t-shirt to color, an animal, a new pair of crocs and a couple other random things. We were able to get Paige to go on the smaller water slides with us which she liked. Hayle was brave and did one of the biggest slides with Nathan and then the next day with me. Nathan's disappointment was that they didn't do the dinner buffet because they were under 50% capacity and so he didn't get his prime rib fix that he had the last time we went there.

Watching one of the shows that they do a couple times a day.

Stuffing their animals. Notice the difference in the two girls. Hayle is still nervous about things that make too much noise and Paige is she wants to do something it won't phase her in the least.

Paige picked a pink poodle and Hayle picked a horse. This was when we were getting the crocs. They each picked out their own color and their own jibbit to go with it. Hayle picked red crocs with a purple jewel and Paige picked pink crocs with an icecream cone. She loves the icecream cone. She took the one croc with it on to bed with her a couple times last week

Coloring t-shirts with fabric markers. Paige was more interested in playing in the house so Nathan got to color her shirt.

Playing the Magic Quest game. It is a game that has a wand and you point it at things to "get things" to finish your quest. It is a computerized game that was kinda neat. Nathan made fun of me because I wanted to finish it because I don't like leaving things unfinished. Hayle and I went and finished while Paige and Nathan played in the water park for another 30 mintues before we left. It is a great place to go for a quick vacation that I am sure we will do again.

Happy Halloween!

I did not do very good this year with the camera. Paige got to go to a Halloween party that a friend threw for a few little kids that aren't in school on Wednesday and I forgot the camera. I did steal a picture off of someone else's blog that went so this is all I have.

Then on Friday Paige had a Halloween party at preschool and I forgot my camera. Hopefully I can get a few pictures from one of the other moms.

I did have the camera when Hayle got home though. :) She couldn't wear her costume to school so I got her a Halloween shirt and leggings to wear. We had the headband from a few years ago. She got to make a pumpkin out of a toilet paper roll at school.

We had such a busy week that we didn't get to the pumpkins until the day before Halloween. Hayle picked the witch and Paige wanted just a smily face.

Then on Halloween we stayed home and had some pizza and then went to one of our friend's neighborhoods and trick-or-treated. Paige was very good at it and Hayle was still a little shy. Paige had a great time. She loves candy so getting candy was great fun for her. Hayle had fun too. Paige was a leaf fairy and Hayle was just a purple fairy.

Updates...

We have had a busy last couple weeks. Hayle started taking an art class that the school district put on for the month 2 nights a week. She loves it. She has a few more classes left and when we are done I will take a picture of all the things she has made. She has been doing a great job with her reading at school. She has reading homework everynight and can sound out all the words in her books from school. She does figure out what the story is from the pictures so sometimes she tries to make up words for the story and I have to remind her to follow the words on the page.

Paige has been taking swim lessons and doing preschool. She loves it all. I think she is having a great time with being 3 right now. She got a bad cold with a fever this week so she had to miss her preschool field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Oh well.. there is always next year. We went into the doctor and she does not have the flu just a virus of some kind. She is mostly better now but we stayed home again today so that she doesn't catch the flu that is going around right now. Hopefully we can keep Hayle healthy since she is in school.

Last week we traded in our Subaru for a Tahoe. We were wanting something bigger and since we got an older car with more miles on it we actually have a lower payment. It is a nice car but there are things I miss about the Subaru.

Nathan has been working a ton of hours lately. Last week and the week before he worked 80 to 90 hours per week. So we didn't get to see him much. It is good and bad because that means he is selling stuff and making money but then we don't get to see him.

I have been trying to keep from getting sick. I have the start of a cold and hopefully it doesn't get worse. I haven't been to the gym for the past 2 weeks which feels really weird but I have been able to catch up at home on a few things. I am off to get some more things done while Paige is napping and before Hayle gets home

..... oh yeah side note..... I went to the PTA meeting last week and Hayle's school and the principle was showing the WASL scores and her elementary school is the highest performing school in our district and also on the Plateau (there are a couple other districts here). Our district was one of the top in the county and we also beat a few schools in King County like on Mercer Island. We have Hayle at a great school. The only down side is that with the No Child Left Behind Act our school did meet the Adaquate yearly progress in the special education department (basically didn't have a big improvment in scores from last year) so technically they are a "failing school". Makes a lot of sense huh. The WASL scores were all in the 80's to 90's and the principle also pointed out that about 30% of the school population lives below the national standard for poverty. Just thought I would brag about our school some. :)

Family Pictures

We did our annual family pictures a few weeks ago. Angie did them again and now the trouble is which ones to pick. :) Here are a few of my favorites.

The Family

Hayle - 6 1/2 years old

Paige 3 years old

Both girls. :)

I need help deciding on the family picture. Let me know what your votes are. :)

Fair face painting

We went to the fair this evening and I forgot the camera. We had a good time walking around looking at animals. The girls pet the minture ponies, did some free face painting and went on some rides. Hayle and I went on the ferris wheel Paige is not quite tall enought yet maybe next year. Hayle got a dolphin her her cheek and Paige got a ladybug which is half off now. I got my funnel cake fix and strawberries on a stick. It was a awesome day weather wise to go and we had a great time.

Dance started again

Dance class has started up again. Hayle is taking a Ballet class and Paige is taking a class for the first time. She is very excited about it. She is doing a Tumblina class that Hayle took also. I lucked out and they are able to go at the exact same time. I forgot to take pictures before we left so these were taken after the first day of dance class.

I can't remember for sure why Hayle was mad. I think she had just had a time out for not listening which she hates time outs but still doesn't listen... go figure.

Paige had to have a picture with her ballerina barbie. She is potty trained but I sent her in a pull-up just to be safe. She did good. The teacher said that when they were dancing Paige just watched and but she did do a flip when they were doing those.
