We have had a busy last couple weeks. Hayle started taking an art class that the school district put on for the month 2 nights a week. She loves it. She has a few more classes left and when we are done I will take a picture of all the things she has made. She has been doing a great job with her reading at school. She has reading homework everynight and can sound out all the words in her books from school. She does figure out what the story is from the pictures so sometimes she tries to make up words for the story and I have to remind her to follow the words on the page.
Paige has been taking swim lessons and doing preschool. She loves it all. I think she is having a great time with being 3 right now. She got a bad cold with a fever this week so she had to miss her preschool field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Oh well.. there is always next year. We went into the doctor and she does not have the flu just a virus of some kind. She is mostly better now but we stayed home again today so that she doesn't catch the flu that is going around right now. Hopefully we can keep Hayle healthy since she is in school.
Last week we traded in our Subaru for a Tahoe. We were wanting something bigger and since we got an older car with more miles on it we actually have a lower payment. It is a nice car but there are things I miss about the Subaru.
Nathan has been working a ton of hours lately. Last week and the week before he worked 80 to 90 hours per week. So we didn't get to see him much. It is good and bad because that means he is selling stuff and making money but then we don't get to see him.
I have been trying to keep from getting sick. I have the start of a cold and hopefully it doesn't get worse. I haven't been to the gym for the past 2 weeks which feels really weird but I have been able to catch up at home on a few things. I am off to get some more things done while Paige is napping and before Hayle gets home
..... oh yeah side note..... I went to the PTA meeting last week and Hayle's school and the principle was showing the WASL scores and her elementary school is the highest performing school in our district and also on the Plateau (there are a couple other districts here). Our district was one of the top in the county and we also beat a few schools in King County like on Mercer Island. We have Hayle at a great school. The only down side is that with the No Child Left Behind Act our school did meet the Adaquate yearly progress in the special education department (basically didn't have a big improvment in scores from last year) so technically they are a "failing school". Makes a lot of sense huh. The WASL scores were all in the 80's to 90's and the principle also pointed out that about 30% of the school population lives below the national standard for poverty. Just thought I would brag about our school some. :)
